Your rental agreement at checkout shows codes such as {reservations.unit_name} or {reservations.startdate} instead of the actual property name and dates.
Why this happens. HomeRunner displays the rental agreement exactly as it is saved under HomeRunner > Settings > Reservations > Rental Agreement. It does not fill in merge codes from other systems. If your agreement text was copied from a previous property management system, any merge codes it contained appear as raw text at checkout.
How to fix it.
- Open HomeRunner > Settings > Reservations > Rental Agreement.
- Edit the agreement text so it reads naturally without merge codes. For example, refer to "the Property named in this reservation" and "the dates of this reservation" rather than using placeholder codes.
- Remove any initial or signature markers. Guests accept the agreement by checking the checkbox at checkout.
- Save the updated text.
- Open a fresh checkout page to confirm the codes no longer appear.
