Bookings and conversions from your Google Ads clicks show no campaign as the source.
Why this happens. Google’s automatic tagging adds parameters such as gclid, gbraid, and the hsa_ set, but these are not the same as UTM tags. The conversion tracker reads utm_ parameters. If the clicked URL has only the auto-tag parameters and no utm_source, there is nothing for the tracker to attribute, so it correctly records no campaign.
What you can do. To make your campaigns attribute, add a Final URL suffix in Google Ads.
- In Google Ads, go to Settings → Account settings → Tracking.
- In Final URL suffix, enter parameters only, with no leading question mark. For example: utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign={campaignid}&utm_term={keyword}&utm_content={creative}
- Save the suffix.
The suffix sits alongside Google’s auto-tagging, so gclid and gbraid keep working. After you save it, Google can take a few hours to start applying it to live ads. It only appears on clicks that happen after it is live.
To confirm it is working, click a live ad and check the address bar for utm_source=google before booking.
