Blocking a specific guest from booking

You can stop a specific guest from booking on your website by adding their email address or phone number to the guest blacklist at checkout.

Where to find it. The blacklist is in HomeRunner Settings under Reservations, in the Blacklist section. It has one field for blacklisted email addresses and one for blacklisted phone numbers.

  1. Open HomeRunner Settings and go to Reservations.
  2. In the Blacklist section, use the email field, the phone field, or both.
  3. Enter one value per line.

Using wildcards. Both fields support "*" wildcards. For example, "*@spam-domain.com" blocks a whole domain.

Phone number formats. Phone entries match the exact string, and the same phone number can arrive formatted differently, with or without a leading +1. To block every format of a number, use a wildcard entry: an asterisk followed by the 10-digit number, such as "*5551234567".

Email or phone. Blocking by phone number is usually more durable than blocking by email. A guest can create a new email address in seconds, but tends to keep the same phone number.

What the guest sees. A blocked guest sees a generic message at checkout, either "Unable to checkout with given email address" or "Unable to checkout with given phone number", and no reservation is created. You can also enable an admin notification email for blocked booking attempts.
