Business intelligence revenue differs from PMS reports

The revenue figures in your HomeRunner business intelligence report may not match your PMS revenue reports for the same month. Both sets of numbers are typically correct.

Why this happens. The two systems count revenue differently. The business intelligence report counts bookings in the month your guests made them, so a July figure covers every booking placed during July regardless of when the stays occur. PMS revenue reports usually total by when guests actually stay, so the same month reads differently in each system. Charts in the business intelligence report that are built on stay dates say so in their captions.

Months still in progress. If a month was still in progress when the report was generated, the report compares the same days across both years (for example, August 1 to 16 of each year) rather than comparing a partial month against a full one. Those bars are marked with an asterisk.

Checking the counting basis. Each report includes a How to read these numbers box near the top that explains the counting basis. The fine print under each chart names its source and the date range it covers.

If a specific figure still does not reconcile, send support the number and the exact view you compared it against for a walkthrough.
