Your bookings complete normally, but the purchase values (revenue) no longer appear in Google Analytics.
Why this happens. On the booking confirmation page, your website pushes a GA4 purchase event, including the booking value and a transaction ID, into the browser dataLayer. The part that reads that data and maps it into GA4 lives inside your Google Tag Manager containers, not directly on the website. When bookings are completing and the website is still sending the purchase data, the most likely cause is a change in your GTM configuration. This can be a rebuilt container, a change from Universal Analytics to GA4, a variable now pointing to the wrong dataLayer path, or an updated trigger.
Check the website side. To quickly confirm whether the website side is healthy:
- Open a booking confirmation page in Chrome.
- Open the browser console (F12).
- Run: dataLayer.filter(e => e.event === ‘purchase’)
If you see an entry with a numeric ecommerce.value, the website is sending the data correctly and the issue is on the GTM side. If the event is missing or the value is empty, contact support so they can investigate further.
