HomeRunner for Hospitable

Hospitable WordPress integration for direct bookings

HomeRunner connects Hospitable to the website you already have. Bring in your properties, photos and availability, let guests search and check dates on your site, and hand the booking step to Hospitable. Hospitable pushes updates to HomeRunner by webhook, so guests see current availability and prices.

The integration

Keep running your properties in Hospitable.

HomeRunner adds a booking engine to your own website and does not replace Hospitable, which stays the source of your properties, photos, rates and availability.

Hospitable pushes updates such as new bookings and price changes to HomeRunner by webhook, near-instantly, so your site does not wait for a scheduled sync. The Hospitable connection also has an auto sync interval, set in minutes, and a manual sync.

Listings & photos
Your properties and their photos sync from your Hospitable account.
Availability & quotes
Calendar availability, availability search and quote generation are supported for your connected Hospitable properties.
Reservations
The booking step is handed to Hospitable: guests complete the booking on Hospitable’s hosted checkout.
Guest reviews
Review import from Hospitable is not available with this connection.
Offers & discounts
Coupon validation is supported. Weekly and monthly discounts and upsells are not available with the Hospitable connection.

What flows where

  1. Hospitable stays the source for your listings, rates and calendar.
  2. HomeRunner turns Hospitable data into property pages, search and quotes.
  3. Your websiteGuests search your Hospitable listings, check dates and see a quote.

Bookings: Guests complete the booking on Hospitable’s hosted checkout.

Your direct booking website

Hospitable data. Your website, your brand.

Use the site you already run or build a new one, with HomeRunner displaying your Hospitable properties, search and availability.

Present your properties

Your Hospitable properties and photos become the property pages on your site, where guests check dates and get a quote before moving to Hospitable’s hosted checkout.

Build beyond the listing

Add destination guides and campaign pages around your Hospitable listings. Details that are not in your Hospitable data, such as pool type, can live in a Google Sheet through the Toolkit’s Spreadsheet Custom Fields on WordPress, and your site reads them in automatically.

Choose your design route

Keep your existing site, or add a studio template or custom design for your Hospitable listings as a service separate from the HomeRunner subscription.

Getting connected

How to connect Hospitable to your website.

You will need a website, HomeRunner and a Hospitable account with a Hospitable Direct site. WordPress and custom-coded sites are live today; Squarespace, Webflow and Wix are in early access.

Read the Hospitable connection guide

The guide has you authorize access by signing in to Hospitable. A second guide covers connecting with a Hospitable API access token instead.

  1. Check your Hospitable plan

The connection uses a Hospitable Direct site, which Hospitable includes on its Professional and Mogul plans and sells as a paid add-on on Legacy plans.

  2. Find your Site ID

Pick the Hospitable Direct site you want to connect, or create one and enable widgets, then copy its Site ID.

  3. Connect HomeRunner

Add a Hospitable connection in HomeRunner, enter the Site ID as the Checkout Site ID, authorize access in Hospitable and run a sync.

  4. Configure and test checkout

Complete your Hospitable Direct setup and add a payout method, then on WordPress switch on “Bookings go through a PMS-hosted checkout” in Booking Readiness. Before launch, run a test booking through to Hospitable’s hosted checkout.

Bookings & payments

Search on your site. Checkout with Hospitable.

Guests search your Hospitable properties, check availability and get a quote on your site. The booking step is then handed to Hospitable: guests complete the booking on Hospitable’s hosted checkout for your Direct site, whose ID the connection stores as its Checkout Site ID. On-site checkout and external payment gateways are not available with the Hospitable connection.

Hospitable’s own Direct plans handle payment differently: on Direct Lite, you take payment outside Hospitable; on Direct Basic, payment runs through your own Stripe account; on Direct Premium, through Hospitable.

Planning promo codes? Coupon validation is supported for Hospitable. Hospitable includes promo codes on Direct Basic and Direct Premium, not on Direct Lite.

Choosing your approach

Hospitable’s own site and widgets, or your own website?

Hospitable offers a hosted direct booking site, on your own domain or a Hospitable subdomain, and booking and search widgets you embed in pages you build. HomeRunner displays your properties, search and availability on your own site from your Hospitable data.

Your website + HomeRunner
A fit when your own website is central to your strategy: your design, content workflow and web partner stay in place, with property pages, search and availability built from your Hospitable data.
Hospitable’s native tools
Hospitable’s hosted site is a fit when you have no website or want everything managed in one place, and its widgets add booking to property pages you already run, one widget per property. Its Direct Premium plan includes Hospitable-managed payment processing, guest vetting, damage protection and a Google Vacation Rentals listing.
In both routes
Guests complete the booking on Hospitable’s checkout, and Hospitable’s Direct plans differ on payment and fees.

A few more details

Hospitable integration FAQs.

Have an account-specific question? We can help you check your Hospitable plan, Direct site and checkout requirements.

Talk through your setup
Is this Hospitable’s own WordPress plugin?

HomeRunner is a booking engine with a Hospitable integration. On WordPress it installs as a plugin; custom-coded sites are live too, with Squarespace, Webflow and Wix in early access. Hospitable’s own route for WordPress is a booking widget pasted into a Custom HTML block on each property page; HomeRunner connects your Hospitable account and builds property pages, search and availability from it.

Which Hospitable plan do I need?

The connection needs a Hospitable Direct site with widgets enabled. Hospitable includes Direct and its booking widgets on its Professional and Mogul plans and sells Direct as a paid add-on on Legacy plans. Hospitable’s Host and Essentials plans do not include booking widgets.

Do guests stay on my domain with Hospitable?

Guests stay on your domain to search, check availability and get a quote, then complete the booking on Hospitable’s hosted checkout, not on your site’s checkout page.

Are bookings recorded in Hospitable?

Guests complete the booking on Hospitable’s hosted checkout for your Direct site, and Hospitable shows Direct reservations in the same inbox and calendar as your other channels.

Can I offer promo codes and extras with Hospitable?

Promo codes, yes: coupon validation is supported for Hospitable, whose promo codes come with Direct Basic and Direct Premium. Upsells and weekly and monthly discounts are not available with the Hospitable connection.

Can I use my existing website with Hospitable?

Yes. HomeRunner is added to the site you already run, without a rebuild, and brings in your Hospitable properties, photos and availability; a studio template or custom website is the other route.
