Abandoned cart recovery emails not sending

Your cart tracking records abandoned bookings, but recovery emails are not going out.

Why this happens. Cart abandonment tracking and recovery emails are two separate steps. Tracking can work correctly while recovery emails never send. The most common reason is that no guest email address was ever captured on your site. If your site uses an off-site booking checkout, where guests complete their reservation on a Guesty, Hostaway, or similar platform page, your website never sees the guest’s email. It stays on the PMS side. The recovery email feature needs an email address to send to, so it finds thousands of eligible carts but no one to contact.

How to enable email recovery. On a redirect-checkout site, at least one email-capture feature must be active and visible on your property pages. Your options include Price Alerts, a Get Price Drop Alerts button that asks for an email before subscribing, and Wishlist, which saves by email. Once a visitor provides their email through any of these tools, they become eligible for recovery emails on any cart they left behind.

For visitors who never provide an email. The on-site reminder banner is the alternative. It shows a prompt to returning visitors who still have an abandoned cart, with no email required. If the banner is enabled but not appearing or not logging any assisted bookings, that is a separate configuration issue worth checking.

About recovered revenue. The recovered revenue figure shown in the dashboard may appear inflated if it includes bookings that happened on their own without any recovery nudge. True tool-driven recovery counts only bookings that followed a delivered recovery email or banner impression.
