Track API keys: creating a Server Key

HomeRunner connects to Track with a Track Server Key. A Channel Key has the same shape but cannot read your units, which causes a 401 Unauthorized error on the first sync.

Creating the Server Key in Track.

1. Click the gear icon (Configuration) in the top right.
2. Open Company Setup, then API Keys.
3. Click + Server Key.
4. Name it HomeRunner and save.
5. Copy both the Key and the Secret while you are still on that screen.

If you do not see a Server Key option, ask your Track account manager to enable it.

Entering the key in HomeRunner. In the HomeRunner Dashboard, enter the Key as API Key, the Secret as API Secret, and your Track address plus /api as the Base URL, for example https://yourcompany.trackhs.com/api.
