PMS tags: searchable or internal only

Some tags from your PMS appear on your website as search options, and others do not. The prefix on the tag decides which one it becomes.

How prefixes work. Each site has two configured prefixes, for example [l] and [g]. The exact characters are set per account.

A tag that starts with the location prefix, such as [l] Green Mountains, becomes a searchable location on your website.

A tag that starts with the group prefix, such as [g] Hot Tub, becomes a searchable filter or collection.

A tag with no prefix stays internal. It never appears on your website, so you can leave internal bookkeeping tags (counties, tiers, ops labels) incomplete without affecting your guests.

Changing what a tag does. To make an internal tag searchable, add the appropriate prefix to it in your PMS. To hide a public tag, remove the prefix. Tag changes reach your website on the next scheduled sync, typically within about 12 hours.

If you are unsure which prefixes your account uses, ask support.
