Your website map shows the message "This page can’t load Google Maps correctly" instead of the map.
Why this happens. Google has rejected the site’s Maps API key. The most common cause is that the Google Cloud project the key belongs to does not have billing enabled. Google requires an active billing account on the project even when your usage stays inside the free monthly credit.
How to fix it. To enable billing:
- Open the Google Cloud Console for the project that owns the key.
- Go to Billing.
- Link an active billing account.
The map recovers within a few minutes. No website changes are needed.
If billing is already enabled. Check that the Maps JavaScript API is enabled for the project and that the key’s website restrictions include your domain.
Finding the exact reason. The browser console on the affected page shows the exact rejection reason, for example BillingNotEnabledMapError or RefererNotAllowedMapError. This tells you which of these to fix.
