Green calendar date will not accept check-in

An open date shown in green on the availability calendar refuses a check-in. This happens on open dates that sit directly before a booked period.

Why this happens. The calendar shows the date as available because it is: a guest who is already staying can check out on it, and it is a real open night. A new booking starting on that date, however, must meet the property’s minimum stay (for example 2 nights). When the following night is already booked, there are not enough free nights in a row, so a new check-in is refused. Clicking the date shows the minimum stay message explaining this.

The minimum stay comes from the property’s settings in your PMS, for example the minimum nights setting on the listing in Guesty.

What you can do. If you want these single-night gaps to be bookable, you have two options in your PMS:

  1. Lower the minimum stay for those dates.
  2. Enable a gap-filling or dynamic minimum stay option, if your PMS offers one.

The website follows whatever your PMS allows after the next synchronisation.
