Property listings stuck on the loading spinner

When your property listings stay on the loading spinner and never fill in, there can be more than one cause. Check first for this specific one: PHP warnings being printed on the page.

Why this happens. If you can see a PHP warning or notice anywhere on the site (often near the top of a page), the site is set to display errors. Those warning messages get mixed into the data feed that fills in the listings. This makes the data unreadable, so the listings never load.

What to do. Two steps fix this:

  1. Turn off on-screen error display. In wp-config.php, set WP_DEBUG to false. If your host forces errors on, instead add these lines near the bottom of the file, above the "stop editing" line: @ini_set( ‘display_errors’, 0 ); and define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false );. Reload a page with listings and they should populate immediately. Errors are still logged, just not printed into the page.
  2. Update the HomeRunner plugin to the current version from Plugins in your WordPress dashboard. This clears the underlying warning at the source, so you no longer rely on the setting above.

If you do not see any warning text anywhere on the site and these steps do not restore the listings, the spinner has a different cause. Contact support with the page URL so support can check the data feed directly.
