If your OwnerRez booking emails are landing in spam, you can authenticate your custom domain with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
Setting up authentication.
- In OwnerRez, open Settings > Account Settings > Email and run the verify-domain flow for your domain. OwnerRez gives you the exact DNS records to add: an SPF include, one or more DKIM CNAMEs, and a Return-Path/bounce CNAME.
- Add those records at your DNS host exactly as provided. Pay close attention to the Return-Path record, because it is a common source of verification failures.
- Add a DMARC record so you start collecting reports without affecting delivery: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto followed by an inbox where you want the reports sent. Once SPF and DKIM pass cleanly, you can tighten the policy to p=quarantine.
- Wait for DNS propagation, then go back to OwnerRez and click Verify until every record shows green.
- Send a test booking confirmation and check the email headers for dkim=pass, spf=pass, and dmarc=pass.
If you send email from other platforms. If you also send marketing email from another platform (such as Mailchimp or Google Workspace), each platform needs its own DKIM selector, and your SPF record must include every sending service. SPF allows only one TXT record per domain, with a maximum of 10 DNS lookups. Going over that limit causes failures.
