Passing guest preferred language to Guesty

You can send each guest’s preferred language to Guesty with their booking. This is supported as of HomeRunner Gravity Forms add-on version 0.4.0.

  1. Update the HomeRunner Gravity Forms add-on to version 0.4.0 or later.
  2. On the checkout form, add a hidden field and set its parameter name to language. This uses the same dynamic-population mechanism as quote_id. A visible field labeled "Language" or "Preferred Language" also works.
  3. Populate the field with the current language code, a two-letter ISO 639-1 code such as nl, en, de, or fr. Longer codes like nl-NL are accepted and trimmed to the two-letter code automatically.
  4. Run a test booking.

What you see in Guesty. The value appears on the Guesty guest profile as the preferred language. Guesty’s automated message flows key off this value.

Good to know. The field is optional, and bookings without it behave exactly as before. Non-language values are ignored rather than causing errors.

For developers. The homegf_guest_language filter can supply the value in code instead of a form field.
