Map Privacy: hiding the exact property location

You can show a general area instead of the exact property location by enabling the Map Privacy module in the HomeRunner Toolkit. It is off by default.

Turning it on. Open the Toolkit Hub and go to the Map section to enable Map Privacy.

What changes when it is on. The property page displays a shaded circle over the general area rather than a precise pin. The properties map places its pin somewhere inside that same area. All location data the site publishes, including page source, structured data, and API output, is shifted to match, so the exact address and coordinates are not readable from the page. The street address line is hidden from public output, while city, state, and ZIP remain visible.

Circle radius. The radius is a per-site setting in the Hub, adjustable between 100 and 3000 metres. The default is 500 m. The property is always somewhere inside the circle, never placed at its centre.

Checking what the public sees. Logged-in editors continue to see the exact location, so log out to check the public view.

Page builder map blocks. The shaded circle draws on the HomeRunner property map element. If a property page uses a separate map block from a page builder (such as a YOOtheme Map element) instead of the HomeRunner property map, the location is still displaced but the circle does not appear. To get the circle, the property template needs to use the HomeRunner property map element. Contact support if you need help switching the template.
