Shortcode text like [homerunner-explorer] showing on page

Instead of the search bar, your page shows bracketed text such as [homerunner-explorer].

Why this happens. WordPress prints a shortcode as plain text when nothing is registered to handle it. Your page content is fine and nothing was deleted. The plugin that provides the shortcode is not running, so WordPress has no instruction for what to put there and shows the raw text instead.

How to fix it.

  1. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Installed Plugins and confirm the HomeRunner plugin is present and Active. If it is deactivated, activate it, then reload the page.
  2. If the plugin is not listed at all, or is listed under an unexpected name, the plugin folder may have been renamed or moved on the server. Contact support rather than reinstalling on top of it, since a rename needs to be corrected at the folder level.
  3. After the plugin is active again, clear any page caching (your caching plugin and CDN) and reload. A cached copy of the broken page can persist after the underlying fix.
  4. Do not edit the page to delete the bracketed text. That text is the correct page content, and removing it leaves the section permanently empty once the plugin is working again.
