Booking widget error instead of a quote

When a guest selects dates, the booking widget sometimes shows An error occurred, please try again instead of a price.

Why this happens. The message appears when the booking engine does not receive a valid price from your property management system (PMS) for the requested stay. This is usually a normal response to an unbookable request, not a malfunction. A temporary PMS outage can also trigger it across many properties at once.

If the error appears for many dates or properties at once. The most likely cause is a temporary outage or slowdown on the PMS side, and nothing needs to change on your website. Wait 10 to 15 minutes and try the same dates again. If the error clears, no action is needed. Invite any guest who attempted a booking during that window to try again, because those bookings were not created.

If the error appears only for specific dates or a specific property. Two PMS settings cause most cases. The first is minimum stay: if the property has a minimum-stay rule, any shorter request is refused, so a short test on a property with a high minimum never returns a quote. The second is availability: if any night in the requested range is blocked or already booked in your PMS calendar, the whole range is refused. Your PMS may also have check-in day restrictions or rate plan restrictions that block specific combinations.

To confirm which applies:

  1. Open the property in your PMS.
  2. Check its calendar and minimum-stay settings for the dates you tested.
  3. Retry the widget with a range that is open and meets the minimum.

When to contact support. If a range that is open and long enough in your PMS still does not return a quote, or if the error persists for more than an hour across multiple properties, contact support with the property name or URL, the check-in and check-out dates, and the guest count.
