If your homepage loads slowly on every visit while your property pages load quickly, two WP Rocket settings are likely responsible.
Never Cache URL(s). In WP Rocket, go to Advanced Rules and check the Never Cache URL(s) list. A single "/" line on that list excludes your homepage from the page cache, so the server rebuilds the homepage on every visit. Remove that line unless you added it for a specific reason. Any HomeRunner and property REST endpoint entries on the list can stay.
Mobile Cache. In WP Rocket, go to Cache and turn on Mobile Cache with Separate cache files for mobile devices. When mobile caching is off, every phone visitor gets an uncached page.
After you make either change:
- Clear the WP Rocket cache.
- Clear OPcache as well, if your host exposes it.
- Load your homepage twice.
The second load should be well under half a second.
Rates and calendars stay live. Caching the homepage does not make rates or calendars stale. Booking data loads separately after the page renders, so prices and availability stay live even when the page itself is cached.
