Your English pages load normally, but your translated pages show an endless Verify you are human loop or return a 404 error.
Why this happens. Cloudflare’s Bot Fight Mode challenges automated traffic it cannot verify. Proxy-based translation providers such as GTranslate work by having their servers fetch your English pages to translate them. When Bot Fight Mode intercepts those requests, translated URLs fail for all visitors. The verification loop can never complete because the translation proxy itself is being challenged, not your visitor’s browser. On the Cloudflare free plan, Bot Fight Mode has no allowlist option.
How to fix it. Turn off Bot Fight Mode in Cloudflare:
- Go to your Cloudflare dashboard.
- Select your domain.
- Go to Security > Bots > Bot Fight Mode and turn it off.
If you still want bot protection. The Cloudflare free tier allows up to 5 custom firewall rules. These can be written to skip verified services while still challenging suspicious traffic.
