After you turn on Hostfully white labeling, your direct booking, pre-arrival form, and rental agreement links may open an error page.
Why this happens. The white label fields have been filled with your main website address (for example yourdomain.com). That address belongs to your website, not to Hostfully’s booking system, so the links have nowhere valid to land. Hostfully can only white-label a dedicated subdomain, never the main domain.
How to set it up correctly.
- Create a CNAME record for a booking subdomain (for example book.yourdomain.com) pointing to dbs-proxy-prod.hostfully.com. Do not point it at book.hostfully.com, because that does not work.
- Make sure the DNS record is proxied through Cloudflare (orange cloud on), because Cloudflare provides the HTTPS certificate for the custom domain. Set the Cloudflare SSL/TLS mode to Full, not Full (strict).
- In Hostfully, go to Agency Settings > White Label, tick White labelled Direct booking website, and enter the subdomain (for example book.yourdomain.com) in the Custom Domain Name for DBS field only. Leave CSS URL empty. It expects a stylesheet file, and filling it with a website address breaks styling. Logout Redirect URL may point to your main website.
- Save.
Automated messages. Hostfully message templates build guest links from tokens at send time, so all automated messages pick up the new address automatically. You do not need to change your templates.
Links already sent. Any link a guest received while the settings were broken stays broken, because it was generated with the old configuration. Resending that message from Hostfully generates a fresh, working link.
