If partner or referral websites send guests to your HomeRunner site, you can tag their links so bookings are credited to the correct referring site.
How to tag links. Add a utm_source parameter to every link that points at your HomeRunner site, using one stable value per referring partner. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes for the value. For example: https://example-client-site.com/property/the-listing-slug?utm_source=partner-site. If a link already has query parameters, append utm_source as an additional one.
Use a distinct value for each partner. Each partner site needs its own value. A single shared value across all partners collapses them into one source, and you lose the per-site breakdown.
No setup is needed on the HomeRunner side. There is no pre-registration or whitelist. The Conversion Kit records whatever utm_source value arrives. Values it has not seen before appear in the report’s unmatched-sources list, where you can assign a readable name at any time. Adding or retiring partner sites later requires no changes on the HomeRunner side.
Redirects. Redirects are fine as long as the final URL that lands on your HomeRunner site carries the utm_source tag.
When attribution starts. Attribution starts when tagging goes live. Visits and bookings from before the tag was added are not credited retroactively. The Conversion Kit also records the HTTP referrer on visits, which is useful for confirming that partner traffic is arriving even before tags are in place.
