Toolkit: Powered by HomeRunner

Powered by HomeRunner adds a small “Powered by HomeRunner” link, with the HomeRunner symbol, at the end of your site’s footer, so industry trackers can recognize your site as a HomeRunner site.

What it does #

Industry trackers identify a site’s booking platform from the attribution link in its footer. Without that link, your site has nothing for them to read.

This module prints one short line after your footer content: the HomeRunner symbol and the words “Powered by HomeRunner”, linking to homerunner.io. It takes the footer’s own text color at reduced opacity, so it matches a light, dark or tinted footer without any styling on your side, and it brightens on hover.

What your guests see:

  • One small centered line at the end of the footer on your public pages.
  • Nothing in your WordPress admin.

If your theme footer already carries a hand-placed credit to HomeRunner, the module’s line steps aside and the page shows one credit. A hand-placed credit is a footer link to the homerunner.io home page, or a footer link to homerunner.io that says “powered” in its text. An ordinary link to homerunner.io elsewhere on the page, such as a help link, a widget or a blog post, does not remove the credit.

Turning it on #

New installs have Powered by HomeRunner on from the start. On a site that had the toolkit before this module existed, it stays off until you enable it: open HomeRunner Toolkit > Hub, find Powered by HomeRunner under Display, and switch it on. Purge your page cache afterward so the footer updates everywhere.

There are no settings. The link text, the link target and whether it renders at all can be changed with a short code snippet, listed below.

For developers #

  • hrtk_credit_label filters the link text (default “Powered by HomeRunner”).
  • hrtk_credit_url filters the link target (default homerunner.io with a footer UTM that names your site). A value WordPress rejects as a URL falls back to the default.
  • hrtk_credit_render returns false to skip the link on a given request.
  • hrtk_site_signature returning false turns off every surface that names HomeRunner: this link, the generator meta tags and the X-HomeRunner header described in Under the Hood.

Tips #

  • Want to restyle the line? The class names are in the Toolkit styling reference.
  • Seeing two credits? Purge your page cache, then check whether your theme footer has a link to homerunner.io that the module does not recognize as a credit.
  • See Toolkit: Overview for the rest of the Display modules.
