Toolkit: Overview

HomeRunner Toolkit is an add-on for your HomeRunner site that bundles dozens of focused upgrades to search, maps, reviews, branding, and checkout. Turn on only the features you want from one place.

What Toolkit is #

Toolkit installs on top of your HomeRunner site and adds optional features you can switch on individually. Each feature is a small, self-contained module with its own on/off toggle and, where relevant, its own settings panel. You are never forced to use a feature you do not want.

Everything lives in one screen: the Toolkit Hub, under the HomeRunner menu in your WordPress admin. From there you enable a module, open its settings if it has any, and the change takes effect on your live site.

Opening the Hub lands you on an overview screen, not a module: a card for each category showing how many of its modules are turned on, with quick links into each one. If a module needs attention, such as a failed Spreadsheet Custom Fields sync or a review-request email at risk of not sending, a colored badge appears on its card and jumps you straight to the module where you fix it.

The Hub sidebar groups modules into sections you can collapse and expand, and it remembers which sections you keep open. Every module also shows a Help docs link that opens its guide in this knowledge base.

Toolkit also curates the shared HomeRunner menu itself, the WordPress admin sidebar entries contributed by every HomeRunner plugin you run, into task-based groups instead of one long flat list. See Admin Menu for how that sidebar is organized.

Search and discovery #

Help guests find the right property faster.

• Searchbar Pro gives you a refined, conversion-focused search bar.
• Flexible Search returns useful results even when an exact match is not available.
• Property Map Display polishes how your property map looks and behaves on desktop and mobile.
• Map Controls cleans up your explorer map’s control buttons into a modern, Airbnb-style layout, and lets you resize how much of the results page the map takes up on desktop.
• Map All Pins shows every home that matches a guest’s search on the explorer map, not just the ones loaded on the current page.
• Map Privacy shows each home as a shaded area instead of an exact pin, the way Airbnb does before booking, so your maps protect owner and guest privacy without hiding your properties from search.
• Map Viewport Fit keeps the desktop explorer map sized to the visible browser window, so it never hangs off the bottom of the screen, and stops ordinary page scrolling from re-running the search.
• Mobile Explorer turns your mobile search results into a full-screen, map-first experience.
• Destination Filter replaces the plain Locations dropdown with a tabbed “Find Your Destination” popup.
• Destination Search is a single search bar you can drop into a hero or landing page, so guests can jump straight to a destination without opening the full destination filter. It can also open with a browse-by-resort list and, on phones, as a full-screen sheet.
• Auto Tags keeps a property tag in step with a rule you write once, such as open for a stay in the next 14 days or three or more bedrooms in a group, so tag pages, search chips, and collections stay current on their own.
• Bathroom Display shows full and half bathroom counts separately on each property.
• Bedroom Showcase adds a photo card for each bedroom, built from your synced spaces or matched listing photos.
• Unit Grouping collapses identical listings into one search result so duplicate units do not crowd the grid.
• Destination Index builds a directory of your destinations that powers destination search suggestions, including the Nearby option in Searchbar Pro.
• Property Page Section Nav pins a quick-jump menu to the top of your property pages once a guest scrolls into the listing, so long pages with rooms, amenities, rates, and reviews stay easy to navigate.
• Internal Property Search gives your own team a private way to look up any property by PMS name, unit ID, address, or post ID.
• Guest Picker gives guests a clean adults, children, and pets selector with per-property rules.
• IndexNow tells Bing and the search engines that share its index the moment you publish or update a blog post or page, so new content is found in hours instead of days.

Guest reviews #

Collect, import, and showcase reviews that build trust.

• Review Importer brings existing reviews onto your site by CSV or one at a time.
• Revyoos Review Sync pulls the reviews your Revyoos account collects from Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Google, and other sites into your site and keeps them current.
• Review Requests emails confirmed guests after checkout and collects new reviews through an approval queue.
• Review Visibility lets you choose exactly which reviews appear on your site.
• Review Display shows guest reviews with a little more privacy, shortening the guest’s name and simplifying the stay date.
• Property Rating Stats fills in the average rating and review count on every property automatically, keeping your review markup valid for Google and complete in your AI feeds.
• Card Rating puts each home’s star rating and review count on your search result cards and map popups, once a home has enough reviews to show one.
• Reviews Page turns your /reviews/ archive into a branded reviews landing page, so searches for your name plus reviews land on your own site instead of a third party’s.

Branding and conversion #

Make the site look like yours and measure what works.

• Label Designer creates visual badges and labels on your property cards, and its Card tags show a home’s top tags as pills under the location in place of the property type line.
• Brand Palette sets your accent color, dark color, and corner radius once, and every module that draws a button, badge, or highlight follows them.
• HomeRunner Skin restyles your search bar and property cards from a live visual playground.
• Styling Reference is a reference for designers that lists the styling variables and classes each Toolkit module exposes, so your theme can restyle them without fighting protected styling.
• Single-Property Homepage serves your property page as your site’s homepage, for a one-property booking site.
• Location Tile Image replaces the random stock photo on your explorer’s region tiles with your own site icon or a chosen image.
• Photo Gallery turns a property’s photos into an Airbnb-style browsing experience: a hero grid, a full-screen photo browser organized room by room, and a swipeable mobile carousel.
• Amenity Icons replaces the identical check mark next to every amenity on your property pages with a line icon that matches the amenity, so guests can spot the pool, the Wi-Fi, and the pet policy at a glance.
• Amenity Order makes property pages show your amenities in the custom order you set in the HomeRunner Plugin, instead of always falling back to alphabetical.
• Property Actions gathers the property page’s action row (Share, Save, Plan with AI, and an optional back link) into one element you can place wherever you want it on the page.
• Mobile Quick Actions keeps your header’s most important buttons (Book Now, phone, contact, and search) visible next to the mobile menu icon, instead of letting them disappear once the header collapses for small screens.
• Property Grid is a lightweight shortcode that shows a handful of your properties as fast, cacheable teaser cards on any landing or marketing page.
• Collection Pages turns amenity and theme groups like Pet Friendly or Private Pool into real landing pages, each with its own pre-filtered property search and SEO copy.

Booking and checkout #

Smooth the path from interest to confirmed booking.

• Group Booking surfaces companion rooms for guests booking for a group.
• Checkout Survey asks guests a short question during checkout.
• Two-Step Checkout turns checkout into a two-step flow that captures guest details up front.
• Checkout Agreements adds any number of extra required agreements, house rules, or a pet policy to checkout, each with its own checkbox and an optional signature.
• Streamlined Checkout Consent replaces your checkout’s agreement checkboxes with a single, OTA-style “by booking you agree” notice, and keeps a per-booking record of exactly what each guest saw.
• Travel Protection presents travel insurance as coverage cards at checkout, with your own wording and policy links.
• Conditional Add-Ons hides booking add-ons on listings they do not apply to, such as a pet fee on a home that does not allow pets.
• Add-On Showcase turns optional extras such as early check-in and late checkout into cards on the checkout page, with images, descriptions and an Add button.
• Powered by HomeRunner adds a small Powered by HomeRunner link at the end of your footer, which is how industry reports count HomeRunner sites.
• Rate Plan Control controls which rate plans are shown and promoted.
• Bookable Starting Prices makes sure the “starting at” price a guest sees is one they can actually book.
• Inline Price Breakdown shows the full price breakdown right in the booking component as soon as a guest picks dates.
• Per-Night Price Consistency makes sure the booking component’s per-night rate and its total agree, so guests never see a nightly price that does not multiply to the total they are quoted.
• Fee Line Separator keeps chosen fees on their own line in the price breakdown while the rest stay consolidated.
• Explorer Dynamic Min Stay makes the search date picker reflect each date’s real minimum-night requirement.
• Calendar Hover Tips explains why a calendar day cannot be booked the moment a guest hovers over it, with a one-tap button to jump straight to the nearest stay that works.
• Guesty Hosted Checkout routes checkout through Guesty’s hosted payment page for Guesty-connected sites.
• Reservations Pro hardens the admin reservations table with export and reliable rendering.
• Booking Readiness watches the pages and settings a booking needs and alerts you in wp-admin the moment one is missing or unpublished, with a one-click Publish to fix it.
• Advance Notice Messaging greys out dates inside your advance-notice window and replaces the technical checkout error with a clear message.
• Payment Split Notice tells guests up front when only a deposit is due today.
• reCAPTCHA v3 quietly screens your contact and inquiry forms for bots without making guests solve puzzles.

Data and personalization #

Bring in outside data and recognize returning guests.

• Spreadsheet Custom Fields syncs custom property data from a Google Sheet or CSV.
• Property Export downloads a spreadsheet of every property on your site, with its public name, internal PMS name, permanent HomeRunner ID, and page link.
• Form Entries saves every guest form submission to one Entries screen, with delivery status and one-click resend.
• Search Demand Sync sends the dates, guest counts, and filters guests search for on your site to HomeRunner Central every hour, so you can see search demand alongside your actual bookings.
• Self-Managed Analytics turns off every analytics tag HomeRunner would otherwise inject on its own, while every booking event still flows into your page’s dataLayer for your own Google Tag Manager or GA4 setup to pick up.
• Guest Identity provides the behind-the-scenes guest profile that powers personalization.
