Adds gentle social proof to your property pages, showing how many people viewed a home recently and how many are looking right now. For operators who want to nudge undecided guests toward booking.
What it does #
Activity Counter displays a small live-activity line on your property pages, such as how many people have viewed the home in the past 24 hours and how many are currently viewing it. Seeing that others are interested creates a sense of demand and helps a guest who is on the fence decide to book before someone else does.
The counter uses a hybrid approach. It tracks real visits to each property, and it blends in a steady artificial baseline so the numbers stay believable and consistent even on quieter listings or brand-new pages. The result is social proof that never looks empty or implausible.
- Shows views in the past 24 hours
- Shows how many people are viewing right now
- Numbers update live while the guest is on the page
- Real tracking plus a baseline so the display is always sensible
How to turn it on #
1. Open the settings #
Go to HomeRunner Conversion Kit in your WordPress admin and open the Activity Counter tab.
2. Enable the counter #
Switch it on. It will begin tracking views and displaying activity on your property pages.
3. Adjust the baseline if needed #
Tune the minimum thresholds and the artificial baseline so the numbers feel right for the size and traffic of your portfolio.
Settings #
- Enabled – turns the activity counter on or off.
- Show 24-hour views – display the “viewed in the past 24 hours” line.
- Minimum threshold – the lowest 24-hour view number that will display (default 3), so a quiet page never shows an embarrassingly small count.
- Live threshold – the floor for the “currently viewing” number (default 2).
- Artificial baseline – keeps the display consistent by blending a baseline into the real tracked counts. You can adjust its intensity and on/off state.
- Update interval – how often the live numbers refresh while a guest is on the page.
Tips #
- Set the minimum threshold to a number that feels natural for your market. Too high reads as fake; too low undercuts the social proof.
- Activity Counter pairs well with Review Insights and Rate Comparison to stack demand, trust, and savings signals near the booking decision.
