Marketing Cards lets you drop your own promo and value-proposition cards right into the property search grid, so guests browsing your listings also see your best reasons to book direct.
What it does #
Guests scroll your search results looking at properties, and that is exactly where your strongest selling points never appear. A “Book direct and save” message, a seasonal promotion, or a “Local support, every stay” reassurance usually lives on a landing page the guest may never reach.
Marketing Cards places operator-authored cards directly between the property listings. You set how often a card shows up, for example after every sixth listing, and the module slots your card into that position as the guest browses. The real listings are never hidden or replaced. Each card can carry a small label, a title, a short body, an image, a background image, and a link with a button.
When you add more than one card, they rotate across the insertion positions in order, so a guest scrolling a long results page sees a varied set of messages rather than the same card repeated.
What the guest sees:
- A styled card in the flow of search results, in your colors.
- A short message (label, title, body) and an optional image.
- A button, or the whole card, that links wherever you point it (a promo page, your direct-booking offer, a contact form).
The module is free, bundled with Conversion Kit, and off until you add cards. A fresh install renders nothing.
How to turn it on #
1. Switch on Marketing Cards #
In the Conversion Kit admin, open the tools hub and switch on Marketing Cards. It is off by default.
2. Set how often a card appears #
Under Insert after every, enter the number of listings between cards. A card appears after every Nth property card. The lowest you can set is 2.
3. Choose your global colors #
Set the Global card colors (Background, Text, Button, and Button text). Every card inherits these unless you override them on the card itself. Low contrast between background and text can fail accessibility checks, so pick a readable pair.
4. Pick which pages show cards (optional) #
Under Show only on URLs, enter one URL pattern per line. Cards then show only on pages whose path matches. Use for any characters and ? for a single character, with no domain and no leading slash, for example rentals/. Leave it blank to show cards on every page that contains a search grid.
5. Add your cards #
Select + Add Card and fill in the content. You can add up to 20 cards. A card with no title, no body, and no image renders nothing, so it is skipped until you give it content.
Settings #
The first three settings apply to every card. The rest are per-card and live inside each card you add.
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Insert after every | How many listings between cards. A card is inserted after every Nth listing. Minimum 2, default 6. |
| Global card colors | The Background, Text, Button, and Button text colors every card inherits unless overridden. Defaults are a deep blue background with white text and a white button. |
| Show only on URLs | One URL path pattern per line; cards show only on matching pages. Blank shows cards on every page with a search grid. Default blank. |
| Enabled (per card) | Whether this card is live. A disabled card renders nothing. On by default for a new card. |
| Label | The small kicker line shown above the title, for example “Promotion”. |
| Title | The card headline. |
| Body | The card text. Basic formatting and links only; headings, images, inline styles, and scripts are removed when you save, whichever editor tab you use. |
| Inline image | An image shown at the top of the card, picked from your media library. |
| Background image | An image that covers the whole card behind the text, picked from your media library. Separate from the inline image. |
| Overlay color | The tint laid over the background image so the copy stays readable. Default black. Shown only when a background image is set. |
| Overlay opacity | How strong that tint is, from 0 to 100 percent. Default 40 percent; 0 percent removes the tint. |
| Link URL | Where the card sends the guest. Accepts web, mailto, and tel links. |
| Button text | The label on the card button. The button appears only when both a Link URL and Button text are set. |
| Open link in a new tab | Opens the link in a new browser tab. On by default for a new card. |
| Make the whole card clickable | Makes the entire card link to the Link URL, with the button still working. Needs a Link URL. Off by default. |
| Use global colors | Inherit the global colors for this card. Turn it off to set this card’s own Background, Text, Button, and Button text colors. On by default. |
Tips #
- Card impressions and button clicks are tracked, so you can see which promotions guests actually respond to in the Conversion Kit: Insights Dashboard.
- If a card is not showing, check three things: Marketing Cards is switched on, the card is enabled and has at least a title, body, or image, and the page you are viewing actually has a property search grid (a results or rentals page, not a slider homepage). If you set URL patterns, confirm the current page path matches one of them.
- Keep one card focused on your single best reason to book direct, and add a second only when it says something genuinely different. With two or more, they rotate across positions, so the guest does not see the same message twice on one page.
- For a card that should feel like a banner, set a background image and lean on the overlay opacity to keep the title readable over busy photos.
- To put your promotions only where high-intent guests browse, pair this with your search pages and see the rest of the suite in the HomeRunner Conversion Kit: Overview.
