One place to set the wording and look of every email Conversion Kit sends, with a shared brand kit, a per-property cover photo, a live preview, and a test send, so each message matches your site before a guest ever sees it.
What it does #
Conversion Kit sends emails on your behalf: the cart reminder that nudges a guest back to an unfinished booking, a price-drop alert, a booking reminder, sign-in and confirmation links, and more. By default those emails use neutral wording and styling. Next to a site with its own logo, colors, and voice they can look generic, and you have no easy way to change what they say.
The Emails section gives you one place to control all of them. You set a global brand once (logo, colors, sender name, footer) and it applies to every email. Then you open an individual email to rewrite its subject, headline, and body copy in your own words, and to choose whether it shows the property’s cover photo. A live preview on the right shows exactly how the email will look as you type, and you can send yourself a test copy before trusting it to real guests.
Everything is opt-in. Until you change a field, each email looks and reads exactly as it does today. The marketing emails (like the cart reminder and price-drop alert) keep their bright accent, and the booking emails (reminders and confirmations) keep their darker, slate look. Setting a global brand color is what pulls all of them into one consistent style.
What you can do:
- Apply your logo and colors to every email from one shared brand kit.
- Rewrite the subject line, headline, and body wording of any email.
- Show or hide the property’s cover photo, place it on top or beside the text, and let a guest tap it to open the same page as the button.
- Drop in details like the property name, trip dates, or savings with simple tokens.
- Watch a live preview update as you edit.
- Send a test email to yourself before going live.
The emails you can customize:
- Cart Abandonment Recovery, which reminds a guest about a booking they left unfinished.
- Price Drop Alert, which tells a subscriber a watched property got cheaper.
- Booking Reminder, the reminder a guest asked you to send.
- Wishlist Share, the shared shortlist a guest sends to other people.
- Price Alert Verification, which confirms a guest’s email before price alerts begin.
- Booking Confirmation, which confirms a reminder request.
- Magic Link Sign-In, the one-click sign-in link.
The last three are sign-in and verification emails. You can edit their wording, but the action button and the secure link behind it are managed for you and cannot be changed, so the link always works and stays safe.
How to turn it on #
1. Open the Emails section #
In your WordPress admin, go to Conversion Kit and open the Emails section. You will see a Global entry at the top and every email listed below it.
2. Set your global brand #
Open Global and fill in the brand fields you want shared across every email: your Logo image URL, your colors, the From name and From email guests see, and an optional footer line. Leave any field blank to keep each email’s own default. Save your changes.
3. Customize an email #
Open an email from the list (for example Cart Abandonment Recovery). Edit its subject, headline, intro, and button label. Use tokens like {property} and {checkin} anywhere in the text to insert real details when the email is sent. The preview on the right updates as you go.
4. Choose the cover image #
For a property-specific email, turn Cover image on or off and pick a layout. Image on top places the cover photo above the text, and Image on left sets a small thumbnail beside the headline that stacks above the text on phones. The cover photo comes from the property automatically, and a guest who taps it lands on the same page as the email’s main button.
5. Send yourself a test #
Enter an address in the test field (it starts with your admin email) and select Send Test. Conversion Kit sends the email with sample data and inert example links, so you can check the look and wording safely. Save your edits first, since the test uses your saved version.
Settings #
Global brand (applies to every email):
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Logo image URL | The logo shown centered at the top of every email. Blank shows no logo. |
| Logo max width | Optional cap on the logo width in pixels. Height is always capped at 48 pixels, and blank scales the logo by height only. |
| Heading color | Color of headings across all emails. Blank keeps each email’s own look. |
| Background color | Email background color. Blank keeps each email’s own look. |
| Button color | Color of the action button. Blank keeps each email’s own look. |
| Button text color | Color of the text on the button. Blank keeps each email’s own look. |
| Body text color | Color of the main body text. Blank keeps each email’s own look. |
| From name | The sender name guests see. Blank uses your site name. |
| From email | The address the email is sent from. Blank uses your site admin email. |
| Reply-to | Where guest replies go, if different from the From address. Optional. |
| Footer company line | An optional company or address line in the footer. |
| Show site name in footer | Whether your site name appears in the footer. On by default. |
Per-email content (each email has its own copy, and the exact fields vary by email):
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Subject line | The email subject line. |
| Headline | The large headline at the top of the email. |
| Intro line | The opening sentence under the headline. |
| Button label | The text on the action button. |
| Cover image | Whether the property’s cover photo appears, and whether it links to the same place as the button. On by default. Available on the cart, price-drop, booking-reminder, price-alert-verification, and booking-confirmation emails. |
| Cover image layout | Image on top, or image on the left beside the text (stacks on phones). |
| Urgency or disclaimer line | A short closing nudge or fine-print line. The label varies by email. |
| Footer note | The small note explaining why the guest received the email. |
The Cart Abandonment Recovery email adds a few of its own: Show Trip Total (show the guest’s trip total, on by default), Guest Reviews Block (show a short guest-reviews highlight, on by default), and per-email Heading, Background, Button, and Logo overrides that take precedence over your global brand for that one email.
The Wishlist Share email adds Listing image collage: lead the email with a grid of cover photos from the properties the guest saved, up to four. It is on by default. Each photo opens the shared wishlist, the same place as the View Wishlist button. Turn it off to send a plain text-and-button email instead.
Tokens depend on the email, and each is replaced with the real value when the email is sent. Common ones include {property} and {checkin} for booking emails, {savings_percent} for the price-drop alert, {site} for the wishlist and sign-in emails, and {expiry} for the sign-in link.
Tips #
- To control when the cart reminder sends and to whom, see Cart Abandonment Recovery. For the price watch that triggers the price-drop and verification emails, see Price Alerts.
- The collage in the Wishlist Share email only appears when the saved properties have cover photos and the guest’s shortlist is not empty. With the collage off, the email still leads with your headline and the View Wishlist button.
- The sign-in, verification, and confirmation emails keep their own secure links. Edit their wording freely, and the button and link are handled for you.
- If a test email never arrives, the cause is almost always your site’s email delivery, not Conversion Kit. Check that your site can send mail (an SMTP plugin or service) and that the From email is one your provider allows.
- Leave a brand field blank rather than guessing. Blank keeps the proven default, and you can set it later once you have the exact color or logo.
- For everything Conversion Kit does, see the Conversion Kit Overview.
