AI Concierge: Under the Hood (Automatic Optimizations)

Some of the most useful parts of the AI Concierge have no settings at all. They run quietly in the background the moment a guest starts chatting, keeping the conversation and the results in step with each other.

These features need no setup. There is no panel to visit and no toggle to flip. They are described here so you understand what the Concierge is doing automatically, and where their results show up.

Trip-Aware Property Links #

When the assistant mentions a specific home by name in the middle of a reply, for example recommending “Bighorn Lodge” in an ordinary sentence, that name is a link straight to the listing. Once a guest has given dates or a guest count earlier in the conversation, the Concierge carries those same dates and guest count onto that link automatically, the same way it already does for the property cards.

What it does for you automatically:

  • Keeps a recommended home’s link matched to the trip the guest already described. A guest who said “the first week of August for four of us” and then clicks a home named in the reply lands on that property with those dates and that guest count already applied, not a blank listing page.
  • Only touches your own property pages. The Concierge checks a link’s destination before adding anything, so this never rewrites a link to somewhere else.
  • Stays current through the conversation. If the guest changes their dates later, links rendered earlier update to match rather than carrying a stale set forward.

There is nothing to configure. It works for every property mentioned in chat, whether the Concierge is naming one home in passing or recommending it as the best fit.

Smooth Explorer Handoff #

A search that returns several matches usually sends the guest from the chat window to the full results grid on your site, so they can browse and compare properly. Without this feature, the chat would still be in the middle of drawing property cards for that search the instant the page starts moving, so the cards would flash into place and then disappear again as the browser leaves for the grid.

What it does for you automatically:

  • Skips the flash. When a search is about to hand the guest off to the results grid, the Concierge holds back the in-chat cards for that search rather than rendering them for a moment and pulling them away.
  • Says so in the chat instead. In place of the cards, the guest gets a short line letting them know results are ready and they are being taken to them, so the handoff reads as a deliberate step rather than a glitch.
  • Only changes behavior when a handoff is actually happening. If the guest is already on the results grid, or there are too few matches to justify sending them there, or a contact-the-team offer is about to be shown, the cards render in chat as usual.

There is nothing to configure here either. This only affects the moment a search hands off to your results grid, never a reply that stays in the chat.
