Give everyone who works in your HomeRunner dashboard their own login to one shared account, so nobody has to pass around the owner’s password.
What it does #
When more than one person works in your dashboard, the usual shortcut is to share a single email and password. That leaves one password sitting in several inboxes, no way to tell who changed a connection, and a scramble to reset everything when someone leaves. Team members removes the shortcut: the account owner invites people by email, each person signs in with their own credentials, and they all work in the same account.
Every account has exactly one owner, the person who registered it. The owner invites members from the Team page. A member gets the same level of access as the owner to everything on the account:
- Your PMS connections, including the ability to edit or remove them
- Properties, reservations and quotes
- Feeds and widgets, if that area is available on your account
A connection that anyone on the team adds later is shared with the whole team automatically. The one thing a member cannot do is manage the team: only the owner can invite and remove people.
There is no pending invitation to track. The moment you send an invite, the person is on the team. If the email address is new to HomeRunner, they receive an email asking them to set a password. If the address already has a HomeRunner login, they receive a note that they have been added and can sign in with the password they already use.
For example, if Maria runs your reservations desk, invite maria@yourcompany.com from the Team page. She gets an email, sets her own password, and sees the same connections, properties and reservations you do, without ever learning yours. When she moves on, you remove her from the Team page and her access ends immediately.
How to invite someone #
1. Open the Team page #
In the dashboard, click Team under the Account heading in the sidebar. The page lists everyone who can sign in to your account, with their name, email, role and the date they joined. If you are the owner you also see an Invite member button and an Actions column. A member sees the list only, with a note that only the account owner can add or remove members.
2. Enter their email address #
Click Invite member. Type the person’s email address. The Name (optional) field is used only when the address does not have a HomeRunner login yet. If you leave it blank, HomeRunner uses the part of the email address before the @ sign.
3. Send the invite #
Click Send invite. The person appears in the list right away with the role Member, and you see one of two confirmations:
- Invite sent, meaning the address was new and the person will get an email to set a password.
- A note that the address was added to your team, meaning they already had a HomeRunner login and can sign in with their existing password.
If the address cannot be added, the reason appears under the email field. The common ones are that the person is already on your team, already owns their own HomeRunner account, or is already a member of another team.
4. What the invited person does #
They receive an email with the subject “You have been added to [your account name] on HomeRunner”.
- A brand-new user clicks Set your password, chooses a password, and signs in to the dashboard. That link works for 60 minutes.
- Someone with an existing login clicks Open the dashboard and signs in as usual.
Either way, when they sign in they land in your account, with your connections, properties and reservations already in place. They do not need to register a separate account first.
5. Remove someone when they leave #
On the Team page, click the trash icon in the Actions column next to the member and confirm with Remove. They lose access to the account immediately and are signed out of every session. Any feeds or widgets they created stay with the account and keep working. You can invite the same person again later.
Settings #
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Owner | The person who registered the account. One per account. Has full access and is the only one who can invite or remove members. Cannot be removed. |
| Member | An invited person. Same access as the owner to connections, properties, reservations, quotes, feeds and widgets. Cannot invite or remove anyone. |
| The address to invite. Required. A new address gets a set-your-password email; an address that already has a HomeRunner login gets an added-to-the-team notice instead. | |
| Name (optional) | The display name for a brand-new user. Ignored when the address already has a login. Left blank, it defaults to the part of the email address before the @ sign. |
| Send invite | Adds the person to the team immediately and sends their email. There is no pending state, resend or cancel. |
| Remove | Owner only. Ends the member’s access at once, signs them out everywhere, and keeps any feeds or widgets they created on the account. |
Tips #
- Invite email missing? Have the person check their spam folder for “You have been added to … on HomeRunner”. If the set-password link has expired, they can request a fresh one with Forgot password on the sign-in page. There is no resend button on the Team page.
- Invite refused? Each HomeRunner login belongs to one team. An address that already owns its own HomeRunner account, or is already a member of another team, cannot be added. Invite a different address instead.
- Changed your mind? There is no pending invite to cancel. Remove the member from the Team page and their access ends immediately.
- Permissions are all or nothing. A member can do everything the owner can except manage the team. This feature does not offer per-person permissions such as view-only access.
- The owner cannot be changed from the Team page. Ownership stays with the person who registered the account. If the owner leaves your company, contact support and we will do our best to help.
- Team page says your login is not linked to an account? Add a PMS connection first, then come back to invite people.
