HomeRunner vs Guesty Sites

Both put your Guesty listings on a bookable website. Guesty builds the site inside the PMS and sends guests to its Booking Engine to pay. HomeRunner adds to your own website and keeps search, quotes and checkout on your domain. The right one depends on whether you want the website inside Guesty or beside it.

The short version

Two good answers to different questions.

Pick Guesty Advanced Website if

you want one vendor, one invoice and nothing to connect, and you are fine with the checkout step happening on the Guesty Booking Engine.4

Ours

Pick HomeRunner if

you want the website to be yours on your own domain, with checkout and analytics on the page, and you want it to outlive any PMS decision.15

What the Guesty connection supports

Where each one wins

Where Guesty Sites wins, where HomeRunner wins, where we lose.

Where Guesty Sites wins

  • It is part of the Guesty relationship: one login, one support desk with 24/7 coverage, one invoice.4
  • Free until you publish, and the Basic single-page site is free on a guesty.site subdomain.12
  • Nothing to host, nothing to update.
  • Upsells, review import and GuestyPay are native. There is nothing to connect and nothing that can fall out of sync.
  • Thirty languages and a blog come with the Advanced editor.4

Where HomeRunner wins

  • Checkout stays on your page. Guesty Advanced redirects guests to the Booking Engine for the transaction.2
  • Your GA4 property, Tag Manager and Meta pixel see the whole funnel because the pages are yours.13
  • The website survives a PMS change. Guesty’s site lives inside Guesty.
  • A flat fee. Guesty Advanced charges 0.5% of direct booking volume on top of $49 a month; its pricing page says “no booking fees” while its billing article charges this one, so read both before you count on either.12
  • No page ceiling and no template ceiling. The site is yours to extend.

Where we lose

  • Live today on WordPress and custom-coded sites. Squarespace and Webflow are in early access.9
  • Hosting is your cost. A bespoke design is a separate quoted project.14
  • Guesty Lite is not confirmed to work with HomeRunner. Guesty’s Basic site is free on a guesty.site subdomain; connecting your own domain is $15 a month.1413
  • Guesty’s Additional Fees need activation on both sides and use scheduled sync; upsells show as unsupported in our feature matrix for Guesty.1
  • Guesty Advanced ships a blog, pop-ups and 30 languages inside one editor. On HomeRunner those come from your site platform and its add-ons, which is more flexible and more to set up.

Switching

Looking for a Guesty Sites alternative?

Operators usually look because they want the whole guest journey on their own domain, or because they want a site that would still be theirs if they ever left Guesty. Hudson Creative Studio, the studio behind HomeRunner, is listed on the Guesty Marketplace under website design.15

What moves: nothing has to. Your listings, rates, availability and reviews stay in Guesty and sync to the new site. What changes: search, property pages and checkout render on your own site, and reservations land in Guesty with the BE-API source. If you have a website already, HomeRunner installs into it. If you do not, a pre-built site from Hudson Creative Studio ($2,000) or a bespoke build by Hudson Creative Studio or a partner studio under Hire an Expert gets you one. Setup help is unlimited and there are no fees until you are live.1911

Frequently asked

The questions that come up on calls.

Have a situation these do not cover? Tell us about your portfolio and we will say which option fits, including the one that is not ours.

Can I keep my Guesty Advanced Website and add HomeRunner?

Not on the same domain in a useful way. Guesty’s site cannot run another booking engine, so HomeRunner goes on a site of your own instead. You can run both during a transition. Source 2

Does HomeRunner work with Guesty Lite?

Not confirmed. Our Guesty page says Lite eligibility is not confirmed; the connection is documented for Guesty Pro. Guesty’s own Advanced Websites are for Pro and Enterprise accounts too. Sources 1, 13

Do guests pay on my site with HomeRunner and Guesty?

Yes, with Guesty Pay or a connected Stripe account, subject to your account setup. An optional Guesty-hosted checkout also exists. Source 1

What does Guesty charge for the Advanced Website?

$49 a month per website plus 0.5% of direct gross booking volume, free until published, per Guesty’s billing article. Source 12

Does HomeRunner need a WordPress site?

No. HomeRunner adds to the website you already have. WordPress and custom-coded sites are live today, and Squarespace and Webflow are in early access. If you have no site yet, a pre-built site ($2,000) or a bespoke studio build gets you one. Source 9
