Hostfully V2 Partner → V3 Self-Key Migration: What’s New and Improved

1 min read

The migration to Hostfully’s V3 API marks an important milestone for us — it’s a step toward better performance, more stability, and greater control over our integrations. This move required significant work behind the scenes, but it sets the foundation for a faster and more reliable experience for our partners and property managers.

Below is a summary of the main changes and improvements you’ll notice after the migration.

🏷️ Property Tagging Update #

To ensure consistency and accuracy, we’ve added a new tag — homerunner-exclude — to properties that were not enabled under the Hudson Creative Studio partner account.
This helps us maintain proper sync and avoid processing inactive or excluded properties.

💰 Reservation Discount Handling #

Starting with the V3 API, new reservations (leads) will no longer display a separate discount line item on Hostfully.
This is because Hostfully’s V3 API does not support discount breakdowns.
However, you can still find the full pricing breakdown in the internal note, where we include all relevant details for reference.

🏡 House Rules #

The Hostfully V3 API currently does not return property-specific house rules.
If you had stored custom house rules per property, please note that this data will not appear through the new API version.

⚡ Performance & Rate Limit Improvements #

On the bright side, the V3 API is significantly faster and comes with a higher rate limit, improving both speed and stability across all property and reservation sync operations.

Final Thoughts #

This migration was a necessary and strategic move toward future-proofing our integration with Hostfully.
While a few legacy fields are no longer supported, the overall performance and scalability gains from V3 make this transition a major upgrade.
