# Search bar or calendar not clickable

Your search bar or booking calendar does not respond to clicks, and you see the error "hkUIkit is not defined".

**Why this happens.** This is almost always caused by a hosting-side JavaScript optimizer. The optimizer minifies one of HomeRunner's core script files down to a broken or empty file, so the interactive code never loads.

**On SiteGround (Speed Optimizer / SG Optimizer)**

1. In WordPress admin, open **Speed Optimizer**.
2. Go to the **Frontend** tab, then the **JavaScript** sub-tab.
3. Turn off **Minify JavaScript Files**.
4. Turn off **Combine JavaScript Files**.
5. Click **Purge SG Cache** in the top admin bar.
6. Reload the page in a private or incognito window and test.

**Other JavaScript optimizers.** The same pattern applies to WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, Autoptimize, and W3 Total Cache. Either disable JavaScript minify and combine, or add HomeRunner's scripts (the homerunner-kit / UIkit file) to the optimizer's minify and combine exclusion lists. Then clear the cache.

Clearing the cache without changing the setting often regenerates the same broken file.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
