# Abandoned cart reminder banner not showing

You do not see the abandoned cart reminder banner when you visit your site, even though the feature is active.

**Why this happens.** The banner is on by default, but it deliberately holds back in several situations. In a normal self-test it almost never appears, and that is expected behavior rather than a fault.

The reminder stays hidden on property pages and search results pages. By default it does not interrupt a guest who is already looking at a listing, because reminding them about a different property competes with the booking they are in the middle of. It also stays hidden on the checkout page and on booking confirmation pages.

The default is one reveal per browser session, so once the banner has appeared in a session, it does not appear again. The banner also needs a live cart for that visitor: it only appears for someone who actually started a booking and left it.

**To see it yourself:**

1. Start a booking.
2. Leave the checkout without completing it.
3. Visit a non-property page, such as the home page or the blog, in a browser session where the banner has not already been shown.

**To show it on property and search pages.** Turn on the **Show on browse pages** setting in the abandoned cart tool.
