# HomeRunner does not work on WordPress.com

If your site is hosted on WordPress.com, HomeRunner does not work properly.

**Why this happens.** WordPress.com runs a restricted version of WordPress that prevents HomeRunner, and many other premium plugins, from working properly. The names sound the same, which is a common point of confusion, but WordPress.com is quite different from a regular WordPress website.

**What you can do.** For HomeRunner to work properly, move your site to a standard WordPress hosting provider such as SiteGround, Cloudways, or WP Engine.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
