# Property map zooms out too far on search

When you search a specific city or neighborhood, the property map may zoom out to show a much larger area than expected, or show the wrong area.

**Why this happens.** When a property is tagged with a location that does not match where it actually sits, the map view expands to include that property's real coordinates. For example, a property located on James Island that appears in Charleston search results causes the map to stretch to include James Island, even when you are browsing only downtown Charleston listings.

A tag can also fail to take effect depending on where it is set. Location and area tags must be set directly in your property management system (Guesty, Hostaway, etc.) in the listing's main **Tags** section, not in a separate custom fields area. Tags placed in custom fields are not read for map and search filtering.

**What you can do.** Remove the mismatched location tag from that property in your PMS. When you set location and area tags, add them in the listing's main **Tags** section.
