# API settings error: platform ID not associated

Your site's **HomeRunner API** settings page shows the error 'Platform ID is not associated with the customer.'

**Why this happens.** The connection (platform) your site is linked to has been moved to a different HomeRunner account, for example when a brand's connection is transferred from a parent account to an agency's own account. The API key stored on your site still belongs to the old account, so the saved platform no longer matches it.

**How to fix it.**

1. Get the API key for the account that currently owns the connection. Go to dashboard.homerunner.io, click your avatar, go to **Settings**, and copy the **API Key**.
2. Paste that key into the **API Key** field on your site's **HomeRunner API** settings tab and save.
3. Re-select the correct connection in the **API Account** dropdown and save again.
4. Click **Register Webhooks**.

The error should then clear, and syncing resumes.

If you are unsure which account owns the connection, contact support. Moving connections between accounts is an action performed at the account level.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
