# Property page URL shows ‘__trashed’ after restore

After you restore a property page from the WordPress trash, its URL ends in '__trashed' instead of the clean address.

**Why this happens.** This is standard WordPress behavior. When a page sits in the trash and something else claims its address, WordPress renames the trashed page by appending '__trashed' to its permalink. Restoring the page does not remove that marker automatically.

**How to fix it.** Edit the restored page's permalink slug back to the clean version:

1. In the WordPress page list, open **Quick Edit** for the restored page.
2. Remove '__trashed' from the **Slug** field and save.
3. Clear your site cache so menus and listing pages pick up the clean links.

WordPress then automatically redirects the old '__trashed' address to the clean one, so visitors and search engines are not affected.

**If you are running ads.** Update your ads to point at the clean address so they load directly without going through a redirect. The redirect can otherwise drop ad-tracking parameters.
