# YOOtheme shortcode shows in a code box

When you add a HomeRunner shortcode to a YOOtheme page, it can appear inside a code box and ignore its settings.

**Why this happens.** The shortcode is placed in a YOOtheme Code element. That element is meant for displaying code on a page, so it changes the quote characters and the shortcode's settings are lost.

**How to fix it.**

1. In the YOOtheme builder, delete the Code element.
2. Add a Text element (or an HTML element) in its place.
3. Paste the same shortcode into it.
4. Save and reload the page.
