# Two accounts showing the same API key

If you have two dashboard accounts open in the same browser, both windows can show the same API key.

**Why this happens.** The dashboard holds one login per browser profile. When you sign into a second account in the same browser, that login takes over, and any window already open keeps showing the previous account's cached information until it is hard-refreshed. The API keys for your accounts are separate and correct; the page is displaying a stale session.

**Working with two accounts at the same time.** Open the second account in an incognito window or a separate Chrome profile. Each window then shows its own key.

**Switching between accounts.** If you only need to switch, hard-refresh the page after logging into the other account.

**Note.** The dropdown in the dashboard header selects which PMS connection you are viewing inside the current account. It does not switch accounts or change the API key.
