# Guesty photos download instead of opening in gallery

On sites connected to Guesty, property photos can download as a file instead of opening in the gallery viewer.

**Why this happens.** Guesty delivers photo links without a file extension (such as .jpg). Because the browser or photo viewer cannot identify the links as images, it treats them as unknown file types and offers to download them instead of displaying them. The downloaded file is just the property photo and is harmless.

**What you can do.** There is nothing to change in Guesty or in your site settings. Support applies a fix directly on your site that routes photo links through the image service, so the viewer recognises them as images and the gallery opens normally. To get the fix applied, contact support and include a link to one affected property page.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
