# WordPress group changes reset by Hostaway sync

You change a property's Groups, Amenities or collection assignments in WordPress, and the change disappears a few minutes later.

**Why this happens.** On a HomeRunner site connected to Hostaway, each property's Groups, Amenities and Flags are rebuilt from Hostaway on every sync. The sync typically runs every few minutes; the interval is set in the **HomeRunner for Hostaway** settings. Each sync replaces whatever was set in WordPress, so those checkboxes are read-only in practice.

**What you can do.** Make the change in Hostaway instead:

1. To take a property out of a collection, remove the collection tag from the listing in Hostaway. Collection tags carry the prefix configured under **HomeRunner for Hostaway > Property Group Tag Prefix** (for example "[g] Family Collection").
2. To take a property out of the Featured section, remove the tag named in the **Featured Tag** setting (usually "Featured").
3. To hide a property from the website entirely, add the tag "homerunner-exclude" to the listing in Hostaway.

The website picks up the change on the next sync.

A group created directly in WordPress with no matching tag in Hostaway cannot keep any properties assigned to it.
