# Reservation emails from the wrong sender address

Your automated reservation emails arrive from an unexpected sender address, even though the HomeRunner Email settings on your production site are correct.

**Why this happens.** The most common cause is a staging, acceptance, or development copy of your site that was cloned from production and still carries the production HomeRunner API key. That copy is treated as a second live site. It receives the same reservation events as production and sends its own emails through its own mail setup. On a staging server, this is often a local mail relay with a default sender address such as wordpress@<hosting-agency-domain>.

**What you can do.**

1. On the staging copy, open **HomeRunner > Settings > Email > Reservation Emails** and switch off the guest and admin notices you do not want sent from there.
2. Contact HomeRunner support to have the staging copy removed from your account's event delivery.

The copy re-registers itself whenever the plugin saves settings with the production key, so switching the notices off on the copy is the change that holds.

**Checking production.** On your production site, the **HomeRunner Email** tab combined with the **From Email** setting in WP Mail SMTP controls the sender. If both are configured correctly on production, production is not the source of the wrong-address emails.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
