# No bank authentication step on Guesty checkout

During a test booking on a Guesty-connected site that uses your own Stripe account, you may notice that no card reader or banking app confirmation step appears.

**Why this happens.** The checkout page collects the card in Stripe's secure fields but does not charge it at that point. Stripe converts the card details into a token, which travels to Guesty with the reservation. Guesty then charges the card through your Stripe account on its own payment schedule. Because the charge happens from Guesty's side after the guest submits the booking, a bank authentication step (card reader or banking app) only appears if the card's bank demands one for that specific charge. Stripe is configured to request authentication when required, so if the bank approves the charge without issuing a challenge, no extra step is shown to the guest.

**Checking a payment.** You can review per-payment authentication details in your Stripe dashboard under the relevant payment.
