# Guesty Booking Engine API keys not available

You cannot find or create the Booking Engine API keys in Guesty. On the **Websites** page, you may see a message like "Before you start, you need a Guesty booking engine."

**Why this happens.** The Booking Engine API keys can only be created when a Guesty booking engine already exists on your account. That message means the booking engine has not been created yet.

**What to expect.** On a new Advanced Website account, the website builder sets up the booking engine as part of your site build. Once the booking engine exists, the API keys become available.
