# GA4 ecommerce events in the data layer

The HomeRunner plugin pushes standard GA4 ecommerce events to the data layer automatically.

**Events sent.** view_item_list fires on the results grid. search fires when a search is submitted. select_item fires when a user clicks into a property. view_item fires on the property page. begin_checkout fires on the checkout page. purchase fires on a confirmed reservation and includes the booking total, currency, and a unique transaction ID.

**Inquiry reservations.** For inquiry-style reservations that are not yet confirmed, generate_lead is sent instead of purchase.

**Setup.** GA4 event triggering is controlled by the analytics setting in **HomeRunner Settings**. You supply the GTM container and the GA4 property, and the plugin handles emitting the events.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
