# API key for the WordPress plugin

Your HomeRunner dashboard shows two different keys, and only one of them is the key the WordPress plugin uses.

The key on the dashboard home page and under **Profile & API Key** is your personal key for the HomeRunner API. The WordPress plugin does not use it. The plugin key is on the **Downloads** page, next to the plugin download.

1. In the dashboard, open **Downloads** in the left sidebar.
2. Copy the key shown next to the plugin download.
3. Paste it into the plugin's settings and save.
4. Run the initial sync.
