# Marketing email opt-ins: where to find them

Email addresses reach your website in three ways, and each one is stored differently. Where you find a list, and whether it reflects marketing consent, depends on where the address came from.

**Newsletter signup box.** The signup box (usually in the footer) sends each address straight to the email platform it is connected to, Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor, and keeps no copy on the website. Your subscriber list lives only in that email platform account. If the box was never connected, or the connection stopped working, those signups were not saved anywhere, so there is nothing to export from the site.

**Other forms.** Entries from Contact Us, inquiry, event, or owner forms are saved in the website back end under **Forms**, with the email address each person typed. Unless a form has its own newsletter or marketing checkbox, those people wrote in with a question and did not subscribe to anything.

**Guests who booked.** Email addresses for booking guests are in your property management system with each reservation. The website's booking checkout does not ask guests for a marketing opt-in, so the website holds no record of marketing consent for booking guests. Check with your property management system's support team to find out whether it records that consent on its side.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
