# Deleting an old Guesty Booking Engine API instance

If you are moving your site to a new Guesty Booking Engine API instance, do not delete the instance your site is currently booking through until the full switch is complete.

**Why this matters.** Deleting the current instance too early breaks the active connection between your site and Guesty.

**When it is safe to delete.** Wait until all three of these steps are done:

1. HomeRunner has updated the connection to the new instance.
2. Your listings have been reconnected to the new instance in the Guesty Google dashboard.
3. The listings have been removed from the old instance.

Only once all three steps are complete is it safe to delete the old instance.
