# When Guesty minimum nights take effect

When you save minimum night rules in Guesty, they apply to bookings immediately, even if your website calendar does not show them yet.

**Why this happens.** Minimum nights are enforced at the booking level. Guesty refuses to provide a quote for stays shorter than the minimum, so guests cannot complete a booking below the minimum even before the website calendar updates. The website calendar itself picks up the rules on its next sync with Guesty, usually within a few hours.

**What guests see after the sync.** If a guest selects a check-out date inside the minimum, the calendar shows a message like "Can't check out, this home requires a 7 night minimum" and offers the shortest allowed stay instead.

No website setting needs to change.
