# Removing the standalone Template Customizer plugin

Before you deactivate or delete the standalone Template Customizer plugin, export your customized templates from it.

**Why this matters.** The standalone plugin stores its templates inside its own plugin folder, so deleting the plugin removes them.

Any templates previously synced into the Conversion Kit's Template Customizer become live overrides the moment the standalone plugin is deactivated.

Still stuck? [Contact the HomeRunner team](https://homerunner.io/contact/) with your site address and what you tried, and we take it from there.
