# Improving PageSpeed scores beyond caching

If caching is already working on your site and you want to improve your PageSpeed scores further, two main levers move the score.

**Image optimization.** Compress your media library and serve modern formats such as WebP. Image optimization plugins need to be connected and configured, not just installed.

**Reducing JavaScript and plugin load.** Trim what runs on each page. This requires hands-on work and should be scoped per site rather than toggled on.
